Getting Ahead on Concussions

This workshop provides a fun, hands-on way to understand the signs and effects of sports-related concussions. The event will include various activity stations for participants as they explore the effects of concussions and the human brain, as well as learn traumatic brain injury protocols.
The workshop will be presented by Minnesota State Mankato faculty members Adam Steiner and Sheen Chiou, along with speech language pathologist Alyssa Rickels and certified athletic trainer Troy Hoehn. Steiner is a neuroscientist and assistant professor in the department of psychology. Chiou is a communication sciences and disorders specialist and professor in the department of speech, hearing and rehabilitation services.
In addition to the presenters, psychology students from the university will also be assisting with the workshop and demonstrations.
