Philosophy

Throughout our PPOE curriculum, our required and elective courses emphasize evidence-based practices and the role of critical thinking of a law enforcement officer in a free society where there are constitutional, statutory, and ethical limitations upon government exercise of police power. We teach our students to respect and uphold federal and state constitutions, the law, procedural justice, and the rights of all people at an individual and community level. Our curriculum demands our students be of high integrity, compassion, dedication and attentiveness, as well as to be aware of implicit bias and discriminatory practices in our diverse and changing community, nation, and world.
