United Nations – International Relations Club
The Model United Nations/International Relations club is a recognized student organization focuses on international policy and current events throughout the world. Our club is focused on not only the policy of the United States, but other countries, governments, current events throughout the world and the interaction of the international community as a whole. We also prepare students for the Arrowhead Model United Nations in the spring.

International Experiential Learning
Students are encouraged to pursue study abroad in the summer, or a regular semester overseas, at a four-year accredited university abroad. Another option is to complete an approved internship within the United States that involves activities or work related to global issues and international affairs. For more information, please meet with your International Relations major advisor.
Pi Sigma Alpha
Pi Sigma Alpha is the national political science honor society that promotes student interest in political science and related fields. It was founded at the University of Texas at Austin in 1920. Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Upsilon Alpha chapter has won eight Chapter Activity grants and is a Recognized Student Organization on campus. The objectives of the organization are:
- To promote beyond-the-classroom activities, experiences and social opportunities for students in political sciences, international relations and public administration
- To recognize and encourage excellence of scholarship in political science and related fields
- To promote student interest in political science and related fields
Requirements
- Completion of 10 hours of coursework in political science, international relations and/or public administration, with at least one 300-400 level course
- B average in all political science, international relations and/or public administration courses
- Maintenance of overall scholarship sufficient to place in the top one-third of his or her class
Pi Sigma Alpha is open to undergraduate and graduate students of any major. There is a one-time induction fee of $35 which confers lifetime membership in Pi Sigma Alpha.

The Berlin Global Internship Project
The Berlin Global Voluntary Internship Project (2018-20) is a three-year program with the main purpose to enable students to engage in cultural diplomacy and in doing so, to further promote cultural diplomacy and multiculturalism worldwide.
The Berlin Global invites applications from individuals who are coming from the following fields:

- Arts & Culture
- International Relations & Politics

The Herbert Scoville Jr Peace Fellowship
The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, established in 1987, is a highly-competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and graduate school alumni with the opportunity to gain a Washington perspective on key issues of peace and security.
This highly selective six to nine month fellowship connects young leaders with our partner institutions in Washington, DC that include leading think tanks and advocacy groups. Scoville Fellows receive a salary and benefits, learn about public policy, and expand their professional network through interactions with analysts, activists, current and former Scoville Fellows, and board members.
Upcoming Application Deadlines
- Spring 2021 Fellowship: October 9, 2020 (begin between January 15 and April 1, 2021)
- Fall 2021 Fellowship: January 4, 2021 (begin between July 15 and October 1, 2021)
