Bert E. Burns Geography Scholarship and Field Studies Endowment

  • Eligibility: undergraduate Geography or Earth Science majors
  • Award: $500 - $2,000 for tuition or field study expenses

Dr. Mary T. Dooley Endowed Geography Scholarship/Field Studies Award

  • Eligibility: undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Geography or Earth Science
  • Award: up to $6,500 for tuition or field study expenses

James F. Goff Geography Graduate Research Endowment

  • Eligibility: graduate students majoring in Geography and conducting thesis research
  • Award: $2,000 - $3,500 for research expenses; up to 25% may be used for indirect costs such as living expenses

George J Miller Geography Endowment

  • Eligibility: undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Geography, Earth Science, or Social Studies with a Geography concentration
  • Award: $500 - $1,500 for tuition or field study expenses

Cora P. Sletten Scholarship

  • Eligibility: undergraduate student majoring in Geography, Earth Science, or Social Studies with a Geography concentration
  • Award: $400 for tuition

Financial Assistance
Several graduate assistantships are available through the Geography Department and through the College of Graduate Studies or via external research funding brought in by Geography faculty. Further information about the availability of assistantships and about the status of applications for assistantships can be inquired about from the Department and/or your potential advisor.
