PROFILE

Dr. Friend is Distinguished Professor of Geography and works at the nexus of people, policy, and environment. His research and teaching interests focus on physical geography, especially earth surface and atmospheric processes and their interaction and human impacts under a changing climate. He is also keenly interested in international development and policy, as well as geographic, environmental, and international education.
