Gender and Women's Studies, Minor
The Gender & Women's Studies minor is a broad, interdisciplinary program designed to complement any major. The minor consists of a minimum of 21 hours, including four required core courses (110 or 220; 310, 330, and 340). The remaining 5 hours must be selected from approved Gender & Women's Studies program classes.
16 credits in Gender & Women's Studies core courses
- GWS 110 – Introduction to Gender or GWS 220 – Global Perspectives on Women and Change
- GWS 310 – Feminist Thought
- GWS 330 – Feminist Research and Action
- GWS 340 – Undergraduate Seminar: selected topic
Students in the minor who complete both GWS 110 and 220 may use one of the courses to fulfill the core and the other to satisfy an elective.
Electives - The remaining 5 credits must be selected from approved Gender & Women's Studies program classes.
