Profile

Dr. Krumwiede came to MSU, Mankato in 1994 as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her B.S. from Augustana College, M.S.N. from Montana State University, M.Ed. from St. Scholastica College, and Ed.D. from the University of South Dakota.

Her health care interests include interdisciplinary ethics and teams, oncology and orthopedic issues, research utilization, and rural health. Some of her research interests include Native Americans, client interventions for lower back pain, rural family health experience, higher education and symptom management.

Some of the current projects that Dr. Krumwiede is working on include: learning communities at Minnesota State University, Southern Minnesota Allied Health Services Partnership (an interdisciplinary grant focused on diabetes in the Hispanic population), and Parish and Rural Nursing. She serves on the National Association of Orthopedic Nursing Research Committee and is the ongoing Nursing Society Rural Health Focus Group contact person.
