The B.A. degree emphasizes a liberal arts framework. It is for those who want a general academic background about women, their contributions and histories, and their relationships to other women and men, institutions and cultures. Students must complete 33 semester hours, including the core courses Gender &Women's Studies 110, 220, 310, 330, and 340. The remaining 13 semester hours must be selected from approved Gender & Women's Studies program classes.

The B.S. degree in Gender & Women’s Studies is designed for students who want an integrated program emphasizing specific substantive skills and a career orientation as well as an academic knowledge base. It is designed to maximize the classroom experience through an internship. Students must complete 33 semester hours, including the core courses Gender & Women's Studies 110, 220, 310, 330, 340, and 497 (Internship: Teaching) or 498 (Internship: Community). The remaining 10 semester hours must be selected from approved Gender & Women's Studies program classes.

The Gender & Women's Studies minor is a broad, interdisciplinary program designed to complement any major.
