Opportunities to Get Involved

  • The capstone course is always looking for projects (generally one each semester) that would enable students to work as a team within a 10-15 week timeline, with a written report and a public presentation to the client at the end. Projects may be focused on land use, design, management issues, etc. While the teams "work cheap," we generally ask the sponsoring agency to underwrite any direct costs of the project. If you have a project that might work, please contact Perry Wood or Tony Filipovitch.
  • In our courses, we like to combine "book learning" with "street smarts" by having practitioners come into our classes. If you notice a course (current or future terms) that might benefit from your particular interests/experience, contact the faculty member.

Alumni Teaching Information

  • If you are thinking about teaching as an adjunct (for us or for another institution), check out NASPAA's website for adjuncts and our College's manual for adjunct faculty.
  • Occasionally, we have opportunities for people to teach in the program as adjunct faculty (In Mankato and the Twin Cities). While on the rare occasion we might assemble a course on a "hot topic," in these times of tight budgets we are mostly scrambling to teach the courses we already have on the books. If you are interested in teaching one of our courses, please send a resume and a letter expressing your particular interest to Tony Filipovitch.
