    • The Department of Urban and Regional Studies recently celebrated a successful 2012 fundraising campaign. It matched the challenge put forth by URSI alumni, Peter Dahm and his wife, Linda Dahm. The College Development Director, Susan Taylor, noted that this campaign was particularly significant because of its broad involvement by students, faculty, alumni and the business community.     • Miriam Porter presented at the NASPAA Conference in October 2012 on civic education.

    • Tony Filipovitch published a review of John Kromer, Fixing Broken cities: Implementation of Urban Development Strategies. Journal ofUrban Affairs, 2012, 34 (5), 585-586
    • Dr. Miram Porter was among 60 women managers profiled in the recently published "Democracy at the Doorstep,Too!"
    • URSI Students Nicholas Pipho & Diana Roberts selected for recogniton by Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
    • Dr. Anthony Filipovitch has been awarded a contract with MnDOT to develop training materials for "Hear Every Voice" - a community engagement process.
    • Dr. Beth Heidelberg presented at the International Film and History Conference.
    • Dave Childs, M.A. 1974, received the SBS Distiguished Alumni Award and is currently serving as the President of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
    • Trisha Rosenfeld has been elected VP of The MnAPA. 
    •  Raymond Asomani-Boateng receives Global Citizen's Award.
