Faculty Accomplishments
- Raymond Asomani-Boateng participated in a review of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment reports July through September 2004. U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan launched the M.A. in June 2001.
- Janet Cherrington was appointed by the Janesville City Council to serve a three-year term on the city's Planning Commission.
- Tony Filipovitch is the webmaster for a new site being developed by the Minnesota City/County Management Association for its Educational Initiatives project. The site lists MN Standards for Social Studies Teaching relevant to local government issues and provides lesson plans and teacher resources for each standard.
- Tony Filipovitch addressed the Region Nine Development Commission Strategic Planning Retreat on January 1. He provided a summary of Osborne & Hutchinson's new book, The Price of Government (Basic Books, 2004) and participated in a panel on Trends and Issues in the Region.
- Tony Filipovitch published a review of Suzanne Morse's, Smart Communities: How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build a Brighter Future, in the Journal of Urban Affairs, 2004, 26(5), 645-647.
- Tony Filipovitch was appointed to the Mankato Piece Task Force by the Mankato City Council. This is a citizen committee charged with making are commendation to the City Council for the relocation of the Dale Eldred sculpture.
