Bill Anderson served on the Minnesota State Mankato faculty from 12/1977-5/2014. During that time he served as chair of the Department of Social Work for 14 years. He has a Ph.D. and an MSW from Florida State University. He primarily taught Practice II (interpersonal/family/group helping skills), but also taught introductory courses, social policy and applied research. He looks forward to remaining professionally active through MSSA and occasionally teaching as an adjunct.
Bill was on the Minnesota Board of Social Work from 1987-1999. He served two terms as the chairperson of this social work licensing agency and represented Minnesota on the American Association of State Social Work Boards. He also served on the board of the statewide social work faculty association, Minnesota Conference on Social Work Education (MCSWE), and currently serves on the regional board of the social services association, MSSA.
Bill's research interests included teaching strategies, interviewing skills, social policy issues, research methods, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder among veterans and other survivors.
