Dr. Brown joined the School Psychology Doctoral Program in 2016 after receiving his Ph.D. in school psychology from Tulane University. He completed his APA accredited pre-doctoral internship with the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center- Louisiana School Psychology Internship Consortium (LAS*PIC), where he worked full time at Mildred Osborne Charter School in New Orleans East. He currently teaches Behavioral Interventions, Cognitive Assessment, Introduction to School Psychology, as well as co-coordinating the pre-doctoral Internship. His research team investigates social-emotional outcomes in marginalized populations such as children of color and queer youth, including what factors influence risk and resilience longitudinally and how these can be applied in schools. His team also investigates how structural equation modeling can be used to analyze and interpret universal screening results, particularly in the case of discrepant reports. His work has previously been featured in The American Journal of Orthopsychiatry.
