Payment and Course Registration Procedure

The cost of the tour is a “course fee” payable to MSU. Students should not directly pay the tour company, Seminars International. We have set the course fee at $3,595 which is based on 25 paying participants. If the final amount charged by Seminars International is different from this the fee will be adjusted at that time

1.    Students planning to use financial aid:
a. Get the “Student Cost Worksheet” from Dr. Kunkel or the International Center CSU 250.
b. Take this Worksheet to the Hub and fill out a budget adjust form to make sure you are eligible for enough financial aid. If you are eligible your financial aid will cover the tour/course fee and the extra expenses included on the Worksheet.

Students not using financial aid for the tour/course fee will pay MSU according to the regular payment schedule.

2.    All participants must pre-pay a deposit of $500 and submit the Enrollment Form information (from brochure) by November 24, 2008.
a. Make out your check to Minnesota State University, Mankato. Attach a note, or
write in the memo line “Italy Study-Tour.”
b. Payment of this deposit should be made to
Twyla Tinney, Director Accounts Receivable, Students Financial Services
    120 Wigley Administration Bldg.
With payment of the deposit and submission of your Enrollment Form you will be added to the list of those eligible for the course. There are a limited number of openings in the class so permission to register will be on a first come-first served basis.

The deposit, less a $50 fee, is refundable if you cancel before December 5, 2008.
The $500 deposit will be credited to you as part of the total course fee (tour cost).

3.    When Dr. Kunkel is informed that you have paid the deposit and knows your tech ID and which course you want, he or Dr. Bunkers will enter permission for you to register for the course.

4.    The balance ($3,095) that is due January 2, 2009 will be paid by MSU to Seminars International. You are ultimately responsible for this cost. If you cancel you will be liable for the refund penalties under the Cancellation and Refund Policy stated on the tour brochure.

5.    Students who wish to pay $595 extra for a single room supplement, or who want to arrange a deviation from the standard tour will pay these extra fees directly to Seminars International.
