The Liebenstein Endowment fund is accepting applications for its annual scholarship for a student planning to enter Law Enforcement. Mrs. Liebenstein established the fund in memory of her husband who died in the line of duty. Deputy Liebenstein changed careers and became an officer after completing his academic program at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
This year one scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to an undergraduate for use in the 2008-2009 year. The scholarship will be awarded to an Option One Law Enforcement major that intends to enter the profession upon graduation. Applicants must have completed 96 semester hours by the end of the Spring Semester 2008 and plan to attend MSU full time in the Fall Semester 2008.
Applicants must submit an application, current unofficial transcript and a letter explaining how they meet the requirements. You may also submit letters of recommendation. The decision to award the scholarship will be based on GPA, evidence of intent to enter law Enforcement as a profession, and community / campus activities. Preference will be given to applicants that have returned to MSU so that they may change their career to law Enforcement. The winner will be announced as soon after March 28th, 2008 as possible.
