On Friday, January 30, 2004, MSU Political Science students Christina Anderson, Takehito Kamata,
Colin Lovett, Nicole Meyer and Nick Morriston, all student members of Pi
Sigma Alpha, traveled with me to St. Paul for a visit to the Minnesota Judicial Center and the state
capitol. The day began with a visit to Associate Justice Sam Hanson of the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Justice Hanson gave the keynote address at the spring 2003 Pi Sigma Alpha initiation banquet at MSU

here for pictures from this event). After meeting with Justice Hanson, we toured the Minnesota Judicial
Center. Following this tour, we had a tour of the state capitol with the Minnesota Historical Society.
Fortunately, an underground tunnel connects the two buildings, for the day was breathtakingly cold - below
zero all day. After our morning in the capitol area, we went to the Uptown area of Minneapolis for lunch at
A Taste of India restaurant.
