Another amazing international trip for the program.  Students and faculty received presentations from faculty at Singapore Management University and the University of Singapore, as well as from Bain & Company, the Center for Creative Leadership, and the U.S. Embassy in Singapore.  Areas in Singapore explored by the program include Sentosa, Jurong Bird Park, Nature Reserves, the many shopping districts, and more.  The trip to Phuket, Thailand, was a trip in a class of its own.

April 2005 -- Consulting Challenge -- Hosted by 3M

The annual Consulting Challenge provides teams of graduate students from both MSU and the University of Northern Iowa with an opportunity to develop a consulting project proposal. During the three-day contest, students participate on two- or three-person teams (4 to 5 teams total). The teams are given a packet of information containing: a description of an organization, a description of a problem that the organization is experiencing, and raw data from a survey. After meeting with representatives of the company and analyzing the data, teams prepare a three to five page written proposal including a budget and detailed plan for an intervention in response to the fictitious Request For Proposals (RFP). The teams also make a presentation to a panel of faculty and company representatives who rate the proposals. The winning team gets bragging rights and their names on a perpetual plaque. Consulting Challenge 2005 Winning Team was: Tera Brown, Jennifer Harden, and Crystal Newman.
