Every other year, the MSU I/O program embarks on an international trip. The trips provide exposure to international aspects of I/O psychology and give students a rich cross cultural experience. Over the last 15 years we have visited England, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Africa, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.
First year students traveled to Belize for 8 days in May of 2013.
Students and faculty traveled to Turkey for two weeks in May of 2012. Site visits included Istanbul, Cappadocia, Izmir and Ephesus. See the video below for a trip preview. Itinerary.
Ecuador & Galapagos Islands 2010
Students and faculty traveled to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for two weeks in May of 2010. We collaborated with students and faculty of the Yachana Technical High School to learn more about Rainforest conservation and Eco-tourism. We also worked together with the founder and other staff of the Yachana Foundation to brainstorm business strategies and other ideas for the Yachana Lodge.

South Africa 2008
Students and faculty traveled to South Africa for two weeks in May of 2008. We collaborated with students from Eden Campus in Karatara. Eden Campus is South Africa’s first free rural eco-business school for entrepreneurs.
During the tour, students and faculty attended a traditional braai, visited KooBoo Berry Farm, participated in a drumming seminar with Nidhi Chaitow and Richelle Kohn, visited a game lodge, and toured Capetown. The trip was organized as a collaboration between MSU I/O program and MSU’s Construction Management Department. The trip was led by Scott Fee.

South East Asia 2005
In 2005, students and faculty traveled to Singapore and Thailand. In Singapore, the group toured sites of international companies and attended conferences at the Singapore School of Management. Students also spent time in Thailand rebuilding areas destroyed by the Tsunami of 2004.

Spain & Portugal 2003

In 2003, students and faculty traveled to Spain and Portugal. They attended the EAWOP conference in Portugal, and spent 10 days learning about I/O Psychology in Europe by touring several companies and listening to distinguished speakers.
