There are two types of financial aid available to graduate students at MSU-Mankato: Need Based Financial Aid Programs and Graduate Assistantships.

The programs listed below are available to students who demonstrate financial need and otherwise meet program and application requirements: Federal Work-Study, Federal Stafford Student Loan, Federal Perkins Student Loans, and Student Education Loan Fund (SELF). To apply, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year in which financial assistance is needed. For additional information, please contact:

Full graduate assistantships at MSU pay a stipend of $9,000 for the academic year. A full assistantship also carries a waiver of up to nine graduate credits per semester. Non-Minnesota residents granted assistantships are eligible for in-state tuition and fees. Formal application for graduate assistantships should be made through the Graduate Studies Office at the time of application to the program.
