Major

The B.S. degree requires 36 semester hours with the following stipulations:

Required courses:

One Survey Sequence from the following (8 credits):

  • 170(4) World History to 1500 & 171(4) World History Since 1500 or
  • 180(4) European History to 1648 & 181(4) European History Since 1648 or
  • 190(4) U.S. History to 1877 & 191(4) U.S. History Since 1877

Hist. 495 "Senior Seminar," 4 credits.

Upper Division Courses and Distribution Requirement (24 credits including History 495):

At least one 300 or 400 level course must be taken from each of the following areas:

  • United States
  • Europe
  • Third World (Africa, Asia, Latin America or Middle East)

The B.A. degree requires an additional 8 credits in Foreign Language.

Minor

A minor in history consists of 18 semester hours.
Of the 18, a minimum of 9 semester hours must be at the 300 or 400 level.
