The purpose of the History Club is to:
- Promote the study of history by encouraging research, good teaching, publication of materials, and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
- Provide ideas outside of the classroom for students interested in historical study and debate.
- Expand opportunities for students.
The Minnesota State University, Mankato History Club offers opportunities to network with other students in your field of interest, participate in historical field trips, build your resume, and interact with the MSU, Mankato History Department and community.

Phi Alpha Theta
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. This honor society seeks to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by its members.
The Phi Alpha Theta induction will occur during the History Convocation, Friday, April 28th, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.
