Join us for an exciting study tour of Germany. For eleven days over spring break (March 7-17, 2013) we will visit Germany. But this will be much more than a tour of famous places and beautiful sites.
During spring semester 2013 you can take a Political Science or Art class to learn and prepare for the tour. Over spring break, we will travel to Germany as a group. We will visit Munich, N¨remberg and Berlin. Our days in Germany will include several expert-guided tours, professor-led activities and considerable free time for independent exploration and learning.
Each professor will apply their special expertise to help you develop an intellectual context for your travel experiences. Professor Joseph Kunkel’s students will study consider concepts of memory and identity through a study of German politics, both historically and today. With Professor Alisa Eiman you study art, architecture and museum collections to become more familiar Germany, its history and identity. Each week before the tour the professors and both groups of students will spend a period together preparing for travel and sharing their learning and expectations. All students will become more familiar with German culture and customs and will prepare together to be a group of travellers and learners.
In Germany, in addition to expert guided tours, you will have free time to explore Germany's historical sites, landmarks and modern destinations.
