Randall Kennedy Lecture

On Monday, April 12, 2004, I traveled with Dr. Yueh-Ting Lee (MSU Department of Ethnic Studies) and several MSU students and faculty to the University of Minnesota for a guest lecture by Randall Kennedy, Professor of Law at Harvard Law School.  Professor Kennedy has authored numerous books and articles on race and ethnicity in American law.  His lecture, "The Race Line in American Life," focused on interracial intimacy and marriage, also the subject of his latest book.  Kennedy's talk was preceded by a wine and cheese reception, and after the lecture there was a book signing.

Randall Kennedy and me.  My American Legal Philosophy class examines 'critical race theory' in American law, and some of Kennedy's writings have focused on that subject.
