Description: Through the Rose M. Hull endowment, the Gerontology Program offers two scholarships each year for undergraduate or graduate gerontology students preparing for a career in the service of older adults. The scholarship supports tuition and fees for students who are presently working with elders OR who wish to take courses relating to gerontology at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Scholarship applicants must be planning to pursue a career related to the care of elders.
Who is eligible: Undergraduate or graduate students presently working with elders OR who wish to take courses related to gerontology at MSU, planning to pursue a career caring for elderly.
Amount: Up to 2 scholarships of $750

Description: The purpose of the Timothy J. Penny State Public Service Fellowship is to provide MnSCU students with the financial opportunity to grow as public servants through participation in state or local government internships.
Once a fellowship is granted, the successful applicant has up to one year to implement an internship activity. The Board will require confirmation from the supervisor of the internship before funds will be released. Each successful applicant will be assigned a mentor from the Board, who will assist the student in finding an appropriate internship site.
Who is eligible: Students for legislative internships or an internship in Minnesota at a state agency.
Amount: Two fellowships of $2,500 each.

The Gerontology Program/Center on Aging normally offers one or more graduate assistantships each year to highly qualified graduate students in the Gerontology graduate program. Application forms may be obtained from the Graduate Assistantship page and should be submitted to the Director of the Gerontology Program no later than March 1 for the next academic year. In addition to the stipend, the assistantship carries partial tuition remission.
Financial Aid can also be obtained by contacting the Financial Aid Office at Minnesota State University.
