Welcome to one of the most anticipated and exciting components of your social work education, field practicum. Field is where student learning of theories, values, ethics, and skills connects to the real work practice of social work. The social work practicum and seminars are the capstone academic experience of BSSW and MSW program in the Department of Social Work at Minnesota State University, Mankato, leading to graduation with either a Bachelors of Science in Social Work (BSSW) degree or Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. BSSW and MSW degrees allow its graduates access to specific opportunities, rights, privileges, and obligations pertaining to the practice of social work in the State of Minnesota, nationally, and internationally.
