The Department of Anthropology has field schools for three areas: archeology, forensic, and cultural anthropology. The archeology field school takes place in summer at the Silvernale site, an ancient Native American village in southern Minnesota. The forensic workshop will also be offered in the summer, covering procedures and techniques specific to crime scenes involving human bone. The field school for cultural anthropology is an on-going service-learning project during the school year. Students will work with refugees and immigrants from various cultures through local non-profit organizations, Open Door Health Center and Community Assistance for Refugees.
