 Leah Rogne, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Sociology at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is the coordinator of MSU’s Applied Sociology program and a program faculty member for the Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program and the Gerontology Program.  

In 2005-2006 and 2009 she served as Interim Director of MSU’s Gerontology Program/Center on Aging. Rogne has a long career in human services and program development both inside and outside academia. She worked for 10 years in long-term care doing social services, management training, and program development. 

She teaches Sociology of Death, Applied Sociology, Program Planning, and Nursing Home Administration, and supervises internships for Gerontology and Sociology. Her research is on long-term peace activists, culture change in long-term care, and social insurance and the privatization debate. She is co-editor of Social Insurance and Social Justice: Social Security, Medicare, and the Campaign against Entitlements (Springer 2009).
