Don Ebel received his Ph.D. from Duke University in 2008, completing his dissertation on the influence of religious adherence upon attitudes toward work and retirement within a sample of older men in the United States. Previously, Dr. Ebel earned an MA in Gerontology from the University of Southern California and a BA in Religious Studies from Oregon State University. Prior to returning to academics in 2002, Dr. Ebel served in a variety of leadership roles in both private non-profit and public human services organizations.  Dr. Ebel serves as Director of Aging Studies and the Chesley Center on Aging and concentrates his research in two areas: long term care leadership, and the intersection of age and spirituality.
