Linette Hamer lived in the Mankato area for 21 years. She graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1989 with a bachelor of science in Open Studies. Further, she was highly regarded in the community as an accomplished business woman.
As a partner in Adult, Child, and Family Services, and as coordinator of a group home for Christian Concern Incorporated, she cared for and worked with underprivileged people throughout her professional career. She was also a generous and often anonymous donor to many organizations in the community.
Through the support of her friends at Adult, Child, and Family Services, the life, the principles, and the contributions of Linette live on. It is through them, in the memory of Linette, these scholarships are made available. They are continuing the vision of their friend by supporting students at MSU pursuing a degree in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences or a degree in Counseling. Through these scholarships, her life and memory will live on, and she will continue to be a positive influence on those around her. In life, Linette strived to assist those unable to assist themselves, and showed compassion for those less fortunate than herself. In death, by her friends, she is able to realize the same dream of helping those in need.
