Mentor Connection Schedule

First Meeting: Individualized Needs

We hope to establish a solid rapport, discuss confidentiality, and then go over the program objectives and mission statement. You will find direction using a "College Student Inventory" and think about an objective or objectives that are realistic and can be accomplished by the end of the semester.

Second & Third Meetings: Building Support Systems

We will help you create study strategies for success in your classes, specifically, creating a plan of attack that makes sense to you. We will review your progress on your academic objectives. We will see if there is a need for other help (i.e., referrals to other campus services such as the Center for Academic Success, Financial Aid, etc.).

Fourth Meeting: Wrap-Up

We hope to go over where you have been and more importantly what are you planning to do in the future.

You are the key component to your academic success. In order for us to help you, you need to be willing to help yourself by seeking out help when you need it, making sure you are doing what you need to be doing to be successful, and working hard as a college student.

Just look at what former students had to say about their experience with Mentor Connection:

It was great to know that I could talk to someone about any concerns about school and they would always help me out. My mentor would set things up for me and help me out a lot. It was great knowing I had help when I wanted and needed it.

- Former Mentor Connection Student

Mentor Connection really helped out with my time management and study skills: two areas that have helped my GPA greatly. I think this program is great for students who have lost some of their focus.
